Philanthropy and Service
Phi Mu's National Philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network. The Alpha Psi Chapter visits local children's hospitals each month to deliver goodies or spend time with the children. This Fall, the chapter sponsored a Dodgeball Tournament to raise money for CMN. This year, 2007, we raised over $8,000 for the cause, and continue to raise our goal each time.

We also complete service hours for other causes: SLU Lab School visits, MS Walk, CF Walk, Hospice Foundation, Heart Walk, other sororities/fraternities charities, and any other need that arises in special need to our members and their families.
Phi Mu is the first Greek letter organization to establish a National Philanthropy Day. On the third Monday in October every year, Phi Mu women join together in philanthropic activities to improve their communities. Alpha Psi spent the day in 2007 at local schools mentoring kids.

Phi Mu Foundation:
In 1957, Phi Mu Foundation was incorporated out of a need to allow Phi Mus to make tax-deductible gifts to benefit our Sisterhood. Nearly 50 years later, the Foundation has grown to meet so many more needs other than that of charitable tax deductions. In the years since the Foundation's incorporation, our organization has grown by leaps and bounds, all to the benefit of the Fraternity, our collegians and our alumnae.
In addition to awarding scholarships annually, maintaining the Heart and Hand Fund to support Sisters affected by natural disasters and overseeing the funds the Fraternity collects for our national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network, the Foundation maintains the important historic memorabilia of the Fraternity
One of Alpha Psi's members, Brianne Maone saw the benefits of Phi Mu Foundation by receiving assistance after Hurricane Katrina through the Heart and Hand Foundation. Phi Mu always finds ways to help its members.
Brianne's Home in Chalmette, LA after Hurricane Katrina. Brianne says, "It was so overwhelming the support that Phi Mu Foundation gave to me and my family. I will never forget how much love and help I received during such a tramatic time in my life."
